Seventh Lisbon Architecture Triennale

In the monotowns built for nuclear power plants, the founding myth promised stability, prosperity, and an above-standard social environment. When the plants remained unfinished, this myth collapsed. Populations were left in incomplete cities, facing economic decline and social erosion. The dream became a burden — an unfulfilled promise shaping everyday life at the periphery of modernity. Roadside Picnic is a project that explores earlier unnoticed typology — urban settlement build around Unfinished Nuclear Power Plants worldwide.
